昨年ノエルが『(What's the Story) Morning Glory?』のあとにリリースするに値しなかったと語ったアルバム『Be Here Now』に収録の1曲から。

オアシスの曲はWikipediaに掲載されているものが多くて解釈を探すのに苦労しないので楽です。

で、それによると、この曲はノエルとリアムの母親ペギーさんが癌の疑いがあって入院したときに書いたものとのこと。

結局重いものでなく、今も元気ですが、もし母親が逝ってしまっら・・ということを現実的に考えたことから、ノエルは「親しい誰かを失いたくない悲しい歌」と語ったそうです。
ボーンヘッドが母親の死後にこの曲を書くように言ったという話も。

また、リアムはこの曲を聴いたときに泣いたと語り、最初の「cold and frosty morning」の節はKinksの「Dead End Street」から引用したそうです。
