イギリスで長年親しまれているクリスマス・ソング。

原曲のスレイドのノディ・ホルダーは、元々違う歌詞で曲をつくっていたものの、クリスマス・ソングに書き換えることを決め、ホリデー・シーズンを思い起こさせる歌詞を詰め込んだそうで、「未来に目を向けよう / まだ始まったばかりさ」 = このフレーズは当時経済危機に直面していたイギリスに向けたメッセージとのこと。
